Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV Mini-Monitor Combines A Unique Mix Of Functions You Can Integrate In Your Wokrflow

Sometimes, it’s the unconventional solution that ends up serving your needs best. That, we’re guessing, is what Asus is hoping the Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV will bring to your workflow, with its unique mix of size and functionality allowing for creative integration into various tasks.

Billed as a “portable control interface,” the device can serve as a secondary mini-monitor, a touchscreen interface, a pen display, and more, allowing users to leverage its combination of features as they see fit. Being part of the ProArt line, this is, of course, aimed towards creatives, although we can see it being useful for a whole lot of folks, provided they can integrate it into their workflows.

The Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV is a 14-inch touchscreen display with 1920 x 550 resolution and a 32:9 aspect ratio, giving it a short and wide profile that’s more compact than a typical second monitor. Like all modern touchscreens, it has 10-point multi-touch support, although it also offers full support for Microsoft Pen Protocol 2.0 for full stylus functionality. Similar to other ProArt monitors, it’s tuned for professional use, covering 100 percent of the Rec 709 and SRGB color gamuts, all while being factory-calibrated and Calman-verified to ensure accurate color reproduction across a variety of tasks.

It’s connected to a wide base that’s the same size as the monitor enclosure, with a hinge and kickstand allowing it to fold flat and tilt upwards at a variety of angles, allowing you to place it at the most comfortable position for whatever task you’re doing. The base, by the way, comes with a built-in dial on the left side, giving you tactile dial control for all those tricky sliders, color pickers, and other UI elements that require more precise, incremental adjustments. According to Asus, their dial works with any app that supports Microsoft’s own Surface Dial.

The Asus ProArt Display PA147CDV can be used as a second monitor, with its short and wide profile allowing it to fit under some displays, with the option to put it between your keyboard and primary monitor without obscuring the latter. It also supports portrait mode, so you can use it as a dedicated display for feeds you’re keeping an eye on, along with any other display functions that work best with a portrait monitor. With its stylus support, it can serve as a capable pen display, too, with the short and wide profile making for an ideal digital drawing accessory that won’t take up too much room on your desk, either. Suffice to say, this makes for a uniquely useful accessory that you can plug into your work process in creative ways.

When used with the ASUS Creator Hub, it can serve as a central control panel for a variety of applications, including Photoshop, Lightroom, Premiere Pro, and After Effects. According to ASUS, the app has pre-built panels ready to go on launch, all of which can be customized with your own choice of dials, buttons, wheels, and sliders, depending on your personal workflow needs.
