Elgato Stream Deck Pedal Gives You Foot Controls For Hands-Free Stream Productions

If you’re a streamer, you’ll no doubt find plenty of value in Elgato’s Stream Deck, as it gives you quick one-tap access to a whole load of broadcasting functions, making your erstwhile one-man setup feel like a more professional production. Problem is, you’ll still have to reach out for the control deck, which means taking your hands off whatever control peripherals you’re using in your game. The Elgato Stream Deck Pedal changes that.

A foot pedal, it gives you a hands-free way to launch functions in your PC, so you can keep your hands on the keyboard, mouse, or gamepad, allowing you to continue handling production duties without momentarily going AFK in your game. Whether you want to switch the broadcast to a second camera, put a custom background onscreen, or cancel an annoying text-to-speech that popped up in the middle of your game, this thing lets you do that by simply stepping on a pedal, making your stream productions look and feel even smoother.

The Elgato Stream Deck Pedal is a foot control with three pedals, giving you three different shortcuts easily accessible without lifting a finger. Yes… three shortcuts won’t exactly change your life significantly, but they do offer some customizability that allows those limited controls to be a little more useful. For one, you can assign multiple profiles to the pedal control, allowing you to change what each pedal does by simply activating a new profile. According to the outfit, profiles are activated automatically when a specific app is active, so the pedal assignments can switch immediately depending on the window in focus on your second monitor.

It supports macros, so you can string together multiple actions in a single push of the pedal, too, which should simplify common actions that you typically perform in succession. All the actions can be customized using the companion app, making setup for the accessory a simple drag-and-drop affair. And yes, it uses the same plugins as the regular Stream Deck, giving you access to a whole load of downloadable functions you can easily integrate into your workflow.

The Elgato Stream Deck Pedal measures 9.6 x 6.9 x 1.9 inches (width x height x thickness), so it’s big enough that you should be able to step on the right pedal without having to glance at the controls. It has a grippy surface, so your foot should have a strong grip in it at all times, with anti-skid feet, so it won’t be moving around the floor every time you use it, either. The device requires a wired USB-C connection, by the way, and is compatible with any cable up to 16 feet.

According to Elgato, it has a heavy-duty chassis, so it should handle being stepped on by folks who are a little less gentle with their force, while three sets of interchangeable springs allow you to adjust the amount of tension on each pedal (it comes with four soft, four medium, and four hard springs). There are also two stoppers, in case you want to physically deactivate up to two of the pedals.

The Elgato Stream Deck Pedal is available now, priced at $115.
