Kids Can Turn The Kiddie Couch Into A Fort, An Obstacle Course, And More

No, we doubt you’ll want the Kiddie Couch to be the main couch in your living room. That just doesn’t make for a flattering look. However, if you have extra room for a spare couch anywhere in the house, this is definitely the sofa your kids would hope will be taking up the space.

While it’s technically a couch, it’s more like a series of modular cushions that you can arrange to serve as seating furniture, which may or may not be comfortable based on how you like sofas with no supporting frames. Because it’s modular, you can arrange those cushions in other ways (of course, you can turn them into a sleeping mattress). Specifically, they designed the cushions so that kids can turn them into functional forts.

The Kiddie Couch consists of multiple parts that kids can assemble into their cushy furniture of choice.  A basic set consists of one base module, one cushion module, and two support pillows. The base module measures 67 x 33 x 6 inches (width x depth x thickness) and comes with a split down the middle, allowing you to set it up as a two-sided foam fort if you’re up to it. The cushion module measures 67 x 33 x 3.5 inches, with the same split design as the base for use as fort walls, while the support pillows come in a triangular prism shape that measure 25.5 inches long.

Aside from the basic kit, they also offer rectangular armrests that measure 33 inches long, which are also meant to serve as pillars when building out a fort, as well as circular footrests that measure 13.5 inches in diameter. They also have a rocker set that gives you two pieces of half-disc foam, wedge-shaped climbing slides, and archways for building out tunnel-like openings, giving kids a good load of options when it comes to building out a fortress.

The Kiddie Couch is made from CertiPUR-US Certified foam, so these should be as durable and comfortable as any foam you can get in the market. Each foam is wrapped in a microvelvet fabric, so it’s going to have a soft texture, allowing you to roll around in the darn things with no trouble. They’re water-repellent, too, so you don’t have to worry about all the spills it’s going to encounter from your rowdy kids. Fortunately, the fabric is removable, so you can simply take it off and throw it in with the rest of the laundry for cleaning.

While this is clearly designed for building kiddie forts, we have a feeling imaginative kids can have a lot more fun with this beyond fort-building. They can literally build out an entire playground with enough of these foam modules around. Of course, that would mean you will actually shell out the money to buy multiple sets of these and… yeah… let’s just say the cost can really add up.

The Kiddie Couch is available now, with a basic set priced at $349. Additional modules can range anywhere from $99 to 229.
