We’re big fans of modern mini-PCs, which manage to cram a heck of lot of computing power in a small enclosure. Unlike your typical mini-PC, though, the Miniproca integrates a small display that folds out from the top, making it a veritable all-in-one desktop.
That’s right, this mini-PC can be used as an all-in-one desktop, requiring you to simply add your favorite keyboard and mouse to get things going. No need to find an available monitor – just fold out the display and you’ve got everything you need to check mails, play games, or get some actual work done.
The Miniproca is a mini-PC with an enclosure that measures just 6.9 x 5.4 x 2.2 inches (width x depth x height), so it can make room even on side tables, nightstands, and a small corner of your workspace. Like any mini-PC, you can hook it up to an external display, allowing you to have a pretty capable computer without taking up as much space as a traditional desktop. Of course, what makes it unique is the integrated monitor that can fold out from the top. Specifically, it comes with a fold-out 7-inch touchscreen display that you can use either as a primary screen or a secondary screen if you decide to hook it up to another monitor. Even better, the monitor angle can be adjusted anywhere 0 to 90 degrees, allowing you to find your ideal working angle.
Inside, the mini-PC houses a 3.3GHz AMD Ryzen 9 6900HX (can be overclocked to 4,9GHz), an AMD Radeon RX 680M GPU, and up to 32GB of DDR5 RAM (dual channels), so this has enough muscle to play modern AAA games without choking. There’s only a single SSD slot, though, with the option to install up to 2TB of storage, as well as a 4,000 RPM fan to handle the cooling.
The Miniproca comes with a generous set of ports, of course, including one HDMI 2.1 slot, a DisplayPort 1.4 slot, and a USB-C DisplayPort slot, allowing it to connect up to three external monitors on top of the built-in touchscreen. Can the GPU really handle those many displays with more resource-intensive programs? We don’t know, but it still makes for quite the interesting desktop option. Other available ports include a standard USB-C (power and data), two USB 2.0 slots, two USB 3.2 slots, an audio jack, and even two RJ45 slots for hardwired internet connections.
There’s Wi-Fi 6E and Bluetooth 5.2 onboard, so you don’t have to deal with that many wires if you don’t want to. We don’t know if it comes with Windows, but there’s probably an option there with a license in tow. Of course, the biggest selling point here is the uniqueness of the integrated touchscreen monitor, as it can function as a literal all-in-one, albeit with a tiny screen just a tad bigger than your phone. Sure, it’s not going to be the most convenient to use, but it will definitely make do in a pinch.
