Reli Birddy Smart Bird Cage Cleans Itself and Feeds Your Birds on Its Own

There are plenty of smart pet products aimed at dog and cat owners. That’s no surprise, since they’re the most common animals people keep as pets. As such, it’s refreshing to see releases like the Reli Birddy Smart Bird Cage, a smart pet product aimed at bird owners.

Billed as a “smart cage for bird care,” it’s an erstwhile standard-looking cage for housing your parakeets, canaries, and other avian pets. Except, it handles all their feeding and cleaning needs, making it easier than ever to properly care for your winged companions.

The Reli Birddy Smart Bird Cage is a tall, freestanding bird cage that measures 71 x 32 x 18 inches (height x width x depth), giving your flighted friends a bit of room to move around, with enough height to give them different perches at various areas of the cage. It has an integrated automatic feeder that can be set to dispense their food to your desired schedule, which you can set via the companion app. When it’s feeding time, the device first siphons out whatever remaining items are in the feeding bowl before dispensing a fresh batch of food, ensuring new seeds don’t mix in with cracked shells and leftovers from the previous batch. The whole feeder is removable, as well, so you can easily take it out for refilling at any point.

There’s also an automatic watering system that works similar to the feeder. That means, you can schedule the different times it will dispense fresh water into the bowl via app, while also removing any remaining water before pouring a fresh batch out. The whole thing can be removed from the cage, too, so you can easily refill the water tank.

The Reli Birddy Smart Bird Cage automatically cleans any bird droppings that fall to the floor of the cage. All you need to do is trigger a cleaning from the app and the device will immediately sweep through the floor, sending any droppings into the integrated waste tray that you can empty out at your convenience. It even has a built-in UV light sanitizer that runs a pass through the cage floor to ensure it eliminates any germs or bacteria that sticks around. The cage has built-in LED lighting that are preset to mimic natural day and night patterns, with the option to trigger any of the lighting presets manually, while integrated sensors track temperature and humidity, which it uses to approximate your feathered friends’ comfort and well-being.

Like to let your birds loose around the house? The cage has eight sections that can be dropped down any time you want to let them explore outside its confines. The cage comes with swivel casters on the feet, by the way, making it easy to move around the house. Other features include a wrought steel construction, food storage sized to hold a pound of bird feed, a 500ml water tank, a digital control knob (if you don’t want to use the app), and various bird-related features on the companion app.

A Kickstarter campaign is currently running for the Reli Birddy Smart Bird Cage. You can reserve a unit for pledges starting at $599.
